January Favorites 2016

One secret to keeping skin moisturized and ash-free is to keep all your products small and easily accessible.  Travel-sized items are great for that because you can throw them in a small makeup bag and use them as needed, or you can be like me and keep them on your desk for easy access.  If a product doesn’t come in sample size, put it in a travel sized container and make it happen!  My top 5 picks for this month did not leave my desk last month and you might want to add them to your wishlist immediately.

La Roche-Posay Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water Sensitive Skin

Thermal Spring Water

Price: $7.99 – $10.39

Available at Drugstore.com

This spritz is formulated for sensitive skin and can be used after you clean your face in place of a toner.  I love to use it as a refresher throughout the day.   I spritz whenever my face is feeling taut and it immediately freshens up my face and relieves the tight feeling.  The thermal water doesn’t interfere negatively with my makeup and it actually improves the look of it when I’ve applied a bit too much powder.

Kiehls Lip Balm #1 in Mint

Lip Balm #1

Price: $7 – $9

Available at Nordstrom

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 saves my dry cracked lips all the time.  I normally pick the original one, but the Mint came in a set that I recently purchased and I love the minty fresh scent.

Paul Mitchell Pro Marula Oil Rare Oil Treatment

Marula Oil

Rare Oil Treatment

Price: $40 for 1.7oz size (sample size shown above)

Available at Paul Mitchell retailers

I received this as a sample in my Box of Style and I absolutely love it and have already used up my sample.  The product can be used on both hair and skin but I’ve only been using it on my hands.  I layer it under my cream lotions and it has been amazing at keeping my hands moisturized.

Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Body Lotion

Suave® Professionals

Moroccan Infusion Body Lotion

Price:  $3.29 – $4.39 for 10 Fl.oz. (sample size shown above)

Available at Drugstore.com

I love a good moisturizer that is inexpensive and gets the job done.  This does that.  I love the sample that I got from my Essence Box and I wish it came in this size for retail.  I suggest putting it into a travel bottle and keeping it on your desk.

Nivea Creme

NIVEA Creme (German Version)

Price: $2.95

Available at Smallflower

I purchased a bunch of these when I lived in Germany and they never fail to come in handy when my hands and elbows need a little extra TLC.  This is a very thick moisturizer and I love that about it.  I haven’t tried the US version but this German version is dope and it was very cheap when I purchased it in a Deutschland drugstore.
