Is love a strong enough word for how I feel about Nars blushes?
If I had to give away all of my blushes and just keep one brand, that brand would be Nars. The pigmentation is generally amazing, the wear is typically long lasting, and the shade selection is outstanding and very brown girl friendly. Now I rarely venture into seasonal products with Nars because I love so many of their permanent items but when I saw this beautiful looking blush online, I had to have it.
I mean come on, isn’t it gorgeous and with a highlight color on the left too. Sold!
Here is a light swatch on my face and it is very pretty but I wasn’t wowed. womp womp. It’s definitely a grower, meaning I will probably like it a lot more once I get used to the subtleness of the shades and the fact that I have to apply it multiple times to get my desired color. However, for $45, I want to love it immediately!
But hey it does get better when layered. Do you see that?
Buildable with two awesome shades, brown girl friendly and you can go light or heavy with application.
Nars X Steven Klein Blush
Shade Purchased: Vengeful
Price: $45 USD
Available at Net-A-Porter
Final Thoughts: I want to love it, I do, but it’s just okay for me and for the price, I’d rather stick with the regular formula. The shade is gorgeous and builds well but I had to go into the blush a few times to get the payoff that I desired which is unusual for a Nars blush. The highlight shade I did like a little more than I did the blush color because it is smoother and easier to apply, the glitter factor is minimal and it has more of a gleaming effect which looks gorgeous in person. The colors layered well together and I did like the way they looked but it just isn’t the quality or pigmentation that I expect for $45 worth of Nars.
Let me know what you think?
Love it? Hate it? Indifferent?
