It’s My Birthday! Sephora and Nars!

Remember the Sephora Beauty Insider program that I told you’ll about?  Well when you join, they give you a little appreciation gift for your birthday.  My birthday was last month but I’m always late so I went and picked up my little gift last week and I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see that it was one of my favorite brands.  I love Nars.  Love, Love, Love Nars and one of my favorite Nars products are their lip pencils.  In this set you get two samples of the pencils which appear to be about half of the regular pencils.

Final Thoughts:  Both of these are very comfortable to wear.  The Cruella is my favorite of the two because I love a red lip.  Cruella is also a really comfortable matte, meaning it doesn’t dry out the lips and it glides on really smoothly.  It appears slightly darker in person than it does in pictures so keep that in mind if you decide to try this shade.  It is very flattering on my skin tone which is surprising since I typically don’t go for the orange-red lippies.  This shades lasted about 5 hours on my lips with minimal fading, but it did transfer to everything that I ate and drank.

Rikugien is pretty as well, but the formula does emphasize lines and can settle in those lines so exfoliate those lips!  This color doesn’t last as long as the matte shade, but it’s so easy to throw in the bag and reapply that it really didn’t bother me.  I also want to note that it is glossy but also a bit sticky/tacky so if that’s something that bothers you, this is not the shade/formula for you.  Both shades need retouching after eating or drinking.   Rikugein lasted a couple of hours on me before I started noticing fading but because the shade is so light, it was barely noticeable to the naked eye.

Overall, I love these little things, mainly because they were free.  I don’t think I would spend $26 on repurchasing these particular shades, but I would definitely like to try other shades.  (sidenote: Dragon Girl in the Matte Lip Pencil is one of my all-time favorites and it’s a definite must buy.)

Let me know what you guys think of these two shades.
