Drunk Elephant - Juju Bar and Pekee Bar

Have you purchased a new line of skincare recently that has blown you away?

The name might be cute, the packaging might be simple, but this brand is serious when it comes to delivering quality skincare.  I’ve been on a hunt for effective skincare products that will help me with some of my skin issues and these two products have been amazing additions to my regimen.  Like for real, I could really get rid of all of my other facial cleansers forever and just kick it with these two and I’d be completely content and happy.  This is like finding a great man and a great hairdresser.  Once you find them, you keep them close by and stay loyal ya know.

Drunk Elephant Juju Bar and Pekee Bar Review

You might be thinking I’ve lost my mind a little bit recommending bar soaps for facial cleansing because they’re usually so drying and stripping to the skin but trust me, this isn’t anything like a traditional bar soap, the ph level is much lower and these babies won’t have you looking like you have elephant skin.  These little things are magical.  My texture issues, due to acne and flare-ups, are completely gone and they haven’t crept back at all.  I use the JuJu Bar in the daytime and the Pekee Bar at night and my skin currently loves me.

Drunk Elephant

Available at Dermstore

Final Thoughts:  Love.  Holy Grail.  Keeper.  Dope.  I have nothing bad to say about this cleansing bar.  It gently exfoliates my skin without leaving it feeling overly dry.  My acne has completely disappeared and my skin feels extremely soft.  I use this one in the daytime and then follow with my serums, sunscreen, and oil.

Ingredients:  Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Triticum Vulgare (Wheatgerm) Starch, Cetearyl Alcohol, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract, Paraffin, Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Kernel Oil, Heilmoor Clay, Water, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract.

Drunk Elephant

Pekee Bar

pH Level:  6.51

Price:  $28 USD

Available at Dermstore

Final Thoughts:  I feel the same way about this one as I do about the JuJu bar.  I love it.  Now you may want to note that I don’t use my cleansers to remove my makeup so I can’t speak to how it removes makeup (I remove my makeup with an oil or a cleansing oil) but after I remove my makeup, this cleanses my skin beautifully and when used in conjunction with my Clarisonic, I get a really thorough cleanse.  Again, my skin doesn’t feel overly dried out but rather nice and soft.  I don’t apply this bar directly to the skin, I run it under water, create a lather and then apply it to the skin and then I go over my face with my Clarisonic. I then continue on with my nighttime regimen and marvel at the difference in my skin.

Ingredients:  Glycerine, Sodium Cocoate, Sodium Stearate, Decyl Glucoside, Propanediol, Sorbitol, Vaccinium Cyanococcus (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Marula Oil, Deionized Water, Marimoist (Chondrus Crispus Extract, Hydrolyzed Chondrus Crispus Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate), Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Aloe Barbadenis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Honey Extract, Titanium Dioxide.

You know the name “Drunk Elephant” is rooted in a myth that says that elephants love to eat the fruit that has fallen from the Marula trees. Once eaten, fermentation occurs inside their very large tummies and the elephants become drunk! (source)

So, let me know if you’ve tried this brand or if you plan on it in the future.  I’m kinda obsessed with DE.
