Do you have hyperpigmentation or acne scarring?
No Makeup Before Picture vs Bobbi Brown Retouching Face Pencil (unblended)
As you can see in the picture above, I’m dealing with both issues and it is irritating my soul. I’m currently working on my diet and skincare regimen in an attempt to correct my skin issues, but in the meantime/in-between time, this Bobbi Brown Retouching Face Pencil has got me covered.
The product packaging states that it can be used for Contouring, Correcting, and Concealing. Since I purchased the shade that was the closest to my skin color, I’ve only used it to correct and conceal and I’m in love. The shade that is featured is warm toned without being overly red which works well for covering my hyperpigmentation. The formula is also very smooth but isn’t overly creamy so it works very well underneath the eyes as a concealer/corrector and I haven’t felt the need to set it with a powder when worn under the eyes.
On the face, it looks like skin even before blending. I also applied minimal product and didn’t blend as well as I normally would in order to show how the product looks without a lot of manipulation. Once, it’s blended and layered it looks even better.
I did find that it didn’t last very long by itself and I noticed fading after about two hours. However, when I used a face primer and set it with powder, it lasted throughout my entire day. Because it looks so natural and covers well, I don’t find the wear time to be that much of an issue, but I hope that they work on that because then the product would be pretty perfect.

Final Thoughts: This is currently my favorite concealer. I’m waiting on Bobbi Brown to add it to their website so that I can purchase some for my professional kit. I also plan on purchasing another highlighting shade for my personal use and this shade is currently on my repurchase/favorites list as well. The only downsides to this product are the price, the wear time and the fact that I waste product sharpening the pencil and I’ve already used up a good amount of the pencil in a little over a week and a half. However, the shade and coverage work so well for me (and it works even better when I layer the product) that the downsides don’t dissuade me from repurchasing. I love this pencil when I want to quickly run out of the house but I don’t want to wear a lot of makeup. I just slide it on, use my beauty blender to blend it out and then apply a little powder and I’m set.
Like for real, I need them to start selling these in bulk.
Could I wear as a concealer by itself with no make up? You know I am makeup challenged!!
Yes, but you would need to set it with a powder if you want it to last or use a primer underneath. In the first photo of this page, I’m only wearing the Pencil, no foundation, no powder and no primer.
Well this looks amazing!! I’m going to have to look into this a little bit more. It reminds me of the Nudestix concealer pen!
I might have to look into that Nudestix because I’m loving this pencil application. It’s so easy to apply.
