Multi-purpose products really save time and sometimes even money. I really love when a product is simple and easy to add to my everyday makeup look. Since I’m already a fan of the Bobbi Brown highlighters (especially Bronze Glow…please bring it back Bobbi, please) I wanted to try more of their cheek products and when I saw the Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks I couldn’t resist.
I love coral and orange blushes on deeper skin tones so I decided to try this shade. It is beautiful but a tad bit too light for my skintone as it is very sheer and not a deep toned coral/orange. However, It does layer really well and I loved it under my Nars Blush. By itself, the product lasted about 2-3 hours on the cheeks before I noticed fading but when I layered it underneath my blush, it really made my cheeks glow and gave me a healthy look that lasted all day.
(I am wearing the product alone and without layering in all pictures so that you can see the true color)
On the lips, you definitely need to exfoliate first because this product clung to my little lines and cracks. It was kinda cute at first and gave just a hint of color but it looked terrible after 30 minutes and my chapped lips started to really show. The color is also a bit too light for me to use on my lips.
Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks
Shade Purchased: Calypso Coral
Purchased from: Bobbi Brown
Final Thoughts: This product really is multi-purpose but not quite right for my complexion. It is great for layering but I wouldn’t wear it alone again. I like it but I have to make it work for me and so I wouldn’t repurchase this shade but I am willing to try a different shade in the same formula.
